Former President of Nigeria, Dr Obasanjo Starts a New Job at NOUN
The former President of Nigeria, Chief Dr Olusegun Obasanjo has secured a new job with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). The new development was disclosed in a statement by the institution’s Director, Media and Publicity, Ibrahim Salawu. The former president with joy on Tuesday inspected his office space at the institution’s Abeokuta Study Centre which is in Ogun State, in his capacity as a facilitator. This is institution is one of his projects while in office.
The former president, is the first PhD graduate of the university, and received his certificate in Christian Theology during NOUN’s 7th Convocation ceremony earlier this year in Abuja. The vice Chancellor of the university, Abdalla Adamu expressed satisfaction on the former presidents achievement as he appoints him NOUN’s Facilitator.
The director of the Abeokuta centre, Ibrahim Salawu, who was on hand to show Mr Obasanjo his office, said this became necessary following his appointment as a facilitator.
Mr Salawu, who led the former president, in company of other members of staff on a familiarisation tour of the centre, said it was a pleasure having him around as a colleague in the academia. He was also pictured meeting with a two final-year undergraduate students of Christian Theology, Elijah Egehedi-Oke and Toriola Abigael, assigned to him by the university for supervision.
The former president promised to work for the interest of the university as he expressed his gratitude for the offer.
